I Ain't Been Shot Mum

I have been a bit quite lately but thats about to change. I have four weeks leave so I going to hit the miniatures. Goal is to finish another unit of 24 Arthurians, make a start on some 15mm New Kingdom Egyptians, and to paint another 10 WWI Diggers. Listening to the Meeples and Miniatures podcast the other week has brought my attention to I Ain't Been Shot Mum from Too Fat Lardies. The author Richard Clarke talked the rules up and sold them to me. A simple visit to the Too Fat Lardies website and $14.00 and a minute later I owned my first ever PDF rule book. Even if the rules turn out to suck thats not a bad price to find out. Another holiday objective is to hit the streets and run 5km a day, do some swimming and weights. I will report back the fattest loser results in 4 weeks.

Hi Paul,

Happy holidays an I wish you well on your fitness program and painting plan.

Please let me know what you think about the rule set when you get around in gaming or reading up on the rules.

Hey Paul,
I've been using IABSM for about 3 years now and happily enjoy the rules set. Umpiring my first 3-4 game really gave me an understanding of the ideas and mechanics behind the rules and let the players act as true company commanders while I sorted out the fiddly bits. Enjoy mate!

Hey Tim. Thanks for your comments. I have been reading the rule book religiously for the past couple of weeks in preparation for a small starter game. I am really looking forward to playing. Just waiting on one of my gaming friends to have a spare night.
Cheers

Hey Paul,

Glad you are stepping away from the dark side and into the goodness and light of Too Fat Lardies. We had a Burma '44 game with IABSM two weeks ago that the lads are still talking about, great fun and a Japanese victory despite the odds.
