I am really impressed and I intend to buy some more. I put a couple of 25mm figures next to the sandbags to give them scale. These figures are mounted on Games Workshop round slotta bases so they stand a bit taller than the popular flat wooden bases.

Western Front Anzacs
The next 10 man platoon of Western Front WWI Anzacs are complete. The lads are marching off to the front. I had originally planned to take the heads off these figures and stick on bush hat or slouch hat heads but I could not find any that were suitable. Soapy does his Australian head pack but the short cut down brim does nothing for me. The other option would be to buy Anzacs from Brigade Games and cut their heads off and transfer them over but that gets a little bit expensive. Figures are based up for Warhammer Historicals The Great War. Figures are 28mm Great War Miniatures. Next unit on the painting table is the Assault Platoon.

Rob Broom
A lot of wargamers learnt today of the sad news of Games Workshop suddenly retrenching Warhammer Historical manager Rob Broom. And news the historical branch is being moved to Forge World. This has left me gutted. I won't type my true feelings towards GW because there would be a lot of swearing and cursing.
Rob Broom is the driving force behind Warhammer Historical. He was always available to answer questions. If you read this mate, good luck with Scarab Miniatures and I hope you start publishing rule books soon because I will be a customer. Better still, immigrate to Australia so I can have a game with you. The sun is shinning 98% of the time here.
Good luck.

Memoir 44 Mediterranean Theatre
My latest acquisition is the Mediterranean expansion pack for Memoir 44. I decided to buy this after hearing a review on the Meeples and Miniatures podcast. Neil described the British infantry as horrible, and I have to agree. The figures are in 8th Army desert uniform but it appears they are wearing American helmets. It's a bit poor but I guess the game is aimed at the general boardgame market. Fans of WWII history will also notice a horrible sight on the picture above. Hint AT weapon. Anyway, the rest of the pack looks good. Crusader tanks and 25pdrs are really well sculpted. Heaps of new desert terrain pieces and medals etc. New desert scenarios. I am looking forward to having a game. And at last, I have British figures to use with the original Memoir 44. It was just plain wrong using American Infantry in British scenarios.
