Highly recommended book I am reading. Anzac Fury : The Bloody Battle of Crete by Peter Thompson. The legendary Anzac battlegroup was formed only once in WWII for the Battles of Greece and Crete. This book concentrates on the Battle of Crete and gives a voice to the Australians and New Zealanders who fought in one of the most vicious and desperate battles of World War II. Two thumbs up.

I suppose Freyberg still gets the blame mate?

The critical decision to withdraw at Maleme airfield decided the battle. But it's easy for us to sit back and judge. We were not there.
Have read about Crete and the diaster at Maleme, sounds like it would be a great read.
Picked this up last year and currently reading it. A good read so far
